At Cisco Meraki Wireless, we simplify and secure wireless enterprise connectivity across the world. We serve a wide range of customers which includes office building for largest companies in the world, hospitals, universities, schools, factories, mines, hotels, retail shops, stadiums, and large public venues. We are the market leader in this area, and we serve customers through our cloud or on-prem management systems.
We use real-time telemetry from millions of devices spanning the globe to continuously improve the performance and stability of our products. Our wireless access point software team, builds a wide range of Wi-Fi access points including the latest Wi-Fi 7 APs with integrated BLE, Scan Radio, and other auxiliary functions. We build both indoor and outdoor product with integrated, directional, or external antenna. Our software team covers platform bring up for everything from boot loaders to web servers on prototype hardware, kernel, driver integration, Wi-Fi features, wireless security, BLE radio, and other sophisticated functions integrated into our product.
In this team, you will get exposed to software for most advanced technologies for wireless infrastructure devices. Same team will also automate and qualify these platforms. Your contributions as part of this team will have direct impact into connectivity experience for critically important applications across the world.
What You'll Do
You’re deeply motivated and skilled Software developer and expected to deliver and lead through others, as well as personally working to reach innovative solutions to business problems. You will interact with multiple teams and design a solution. You're excited to be the one responsible for power-on and bringing life to the most advanced networking system in the world.
You’ll drive a collaborative process with product managers to collect business requirements and translate them to technical requirements. You will create technical design and get it reviewed by key customers. Subsequently, the developer would develop the solution and validate the design and implement.
Responsibilities:
Participate on a project team of engineers involved in the development of software for our next generation Wi-Fi products. Design and deliver new software and features for our next generation Wi-Fi Access Points.
Day to day activities building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.
Also work closely with system test and validation engineers to help with system test and integration, and to support public sector security certifications for Wi-Fi Access Points.
Required skills:
- 6+ years of experience with BS/MS in computer science or equivalent.
- An excellent C, C++ programmer and possess strong analytical and logical solving skills
- Expertise in 802.11 protocols
- Understanding of LAN/WAN routing/switching and other network layer protocols
- Understanding of Embedded software development life cycle and associated planning/execution skills.
- Deep understanding of Linux and network resource management
- Expertise in the network protocol stack, including L2 switching and IP Routing, TCP/IP
- Self-motivated, strong sense of ownership, good teammate
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- You possess the aptitude to multi-task in fast-paced environment with minimal managerial guidance.
- Be open to continuous learning and committed to ongoing self-improvement.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
