Who You'll Work With
You'll be joining our Cisco Networking - Business Intelligence team that plays a pivotal role in helping the organization make data driven decisions. We are a team of talented enthusiasts who work together to collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform business decisions. The Team acts as the bridge between the raw data and actionable insights that can improve company's performance. Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, IT, and other teams, the Sr. Data Science will be responsible for developing advanced ML models, implementing machine learning algorithms, and optimizing data pipelines.
What You'll Do:
We are looking for Sr. Data Scientist who can design, develop, and deploy advanced ML models that can forecast future outcomes, optimize processes, Segment customer, derive customer sentiments. The candidate will tackle complex problems using sophisticated statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to extract meaningful insights from large datasets (Unstructured, semi-structured and structured data) . An ideal candidate has strong software background, thrives in an entrepreneurial atmosphere, communicates efficiently, and can effectively architect, design and develop enterprise ML Models, Dashboards and Datawarehouse solutions.

Data-Driven Insights:
Develop and implement strategies to extract actionable insights from data, fostering data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.
Problem Solving:
Lead efforts to address challenging data science and machine learning problems, spanning predictive modeling to natural language processing, with a significant impact on organizational success.
Model Development:
Development and deployment of machine learning models and algorithms to address complex business problems.
Leadership:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to data scientists across the organization, nurturing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify opportunities where data science and machine learning can drive value and solve business challenges.
Stakeholder Communication:
Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders, guiding them in making informed decisions.
Who You Are:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience using business intelligence reporting tools, developing data visualizations using Tableau or PowerBI.
- 8+ years of Experience with data science and machine learning, including Python or R libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas and Scikit-learn.
- Demonstrable expertise in area of data science or analytics (e.g., machine learning, deep learning, NLP, predictive modeling and forecasting, statistics).
- Strong experience in machine learning (unsupervised and supervised techniques) and experience in machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, logistic regression, MLPs, RNNs, Attention, Generative Models etc would be a plus.
- SQL expertise for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
