What You'll Do
Working in the APJC team of the Security Services Organization, the role of a Security Architect is to provide technical leadership to customers across the spectrum of information and cyber security with a very strong focus on Enterprise and Service Provider Security. The role requires a mix of pre-sales expertise, leadership of virtual teams for delivery of complex projects, and deep and wide technical expertise to support internal and external stakeholders.
Projects vary considerably encompassing technical services such as security architecture; advising customers on people, policy and procedure issues around their security deployment; helping scope and design complex multi-vendor security solutions for large scale service provider networks and supporting customers in their risk and threat mitigation solutions including incident response, containment, eradication and remediation.
Who You'll Work With
In addition to being aligned with the customers’ strategy the Security Architect needs to be aligned closely with all Cisco Customer Experience teams engaged at the customer. This evolvement includes helping provide clear and concise customer requirements, ensuring the team is working towards the correct solution for the customer, the customer is understanding of the solution proposed by Cisco, and that any potential gap or issue is identified and brought to the attention of the correct Cisco team members and ultimately the customer. This involvement with internal Cisco teams will include providing key account updates to management while working across functional areas with both Architects and Consulting Engineers."
Who You Are
· Build Future State Architecture for Security along with the customer requirement
· Design and deploy security solutions in multi-vendor environments
· Develop and implement designs, standards and policies based on customer security requirements
· Work on improving processes and automation for networking infrastructure and supporting systems
· Significant experience of operating in an Architecture or Design role
· Ability to simplify analysis and present results clearly at all levels of the business - including at senior management team level
· Work with a worldwide team on innovations of security services
· Communicate with the customer to drive customer success
· Represent the Cisco Security Solutions team on internal and external events
Required Skills
· Networking engineering with network security knowledge and experience in scripting languages such as Python, Java and PowerShell.
· Good to have Splunk, SIEM and Big Data Mining skills
· Knowledge of extensive security products and hands-on deployment knowledge in NetFlow analysis , Next-generation firewall/IPS, Identity Services Engine , TrustSec, Web security, Email Security , Wireless Security, Virtual Security, Cloud Security and big data analytics.
· Substantial experience in a Network Engineer position with an Internet service provider or enterprise-level network.
· Strong experience working in a Unix/Linux/MS environment at systems administrator level.
· Knowledge of network-based and system-level attacks and mitigation methods.
· Knowledge of system-level attacks and mitigation methods with a core competency in Windows and Linux. Mac OS X is a desirable but not required.
· Up to date knowledge of future technologies for network security in Security domains
· Knowledge of the industrial standards such as NIST SP-800, ISO27000, OT standard, and IoT standard including Zero Trust artchitecture.
· Ability to know when to implement solutions and considering the impacts i.e. cost, customer impact, timescales, etc.
· Deep knowledge in modern threat detection and analysis methodologies
· Experience of working in a technology-based role and interfacing to a varied number of internal and external stakeholders
· Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
· Extremely strong technical account liaison and customer management, consulting skills are mandatory.
· Excellent project management skill and experience on security project
· At least 10+ years of security experience is required which must include customer-facing roles.
· Business level English Language skills (reading/writing)
Desired Skills
· Experience developing tools to automate procedures and integration using languages such as Python, Java, Javascript or C/C++/C#.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject is assumed and an advanced degree
· Security analysis experience on Security Operation Center(SOC)
· Pentesting and Vulnerability test skillset is preferred
· MBA or MSc in Information Security is preferred.
· CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH and CHFI qualifications are all beneficial as is BS7799/ISO27000 lead auditor and Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE).
· CCIE R&S and Security is beneficial

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
